_{This is an entry to the contest goin on over at Seventh Sanctum. Here is what I got:

The wise, broken-hearted female half-Kirin herbologist. Her wardrobe is fashionable. Her non-human ancestry gives her a strangely attractive appearance.

She has traveled to far reaches of the earth in search for the rarest of plants. Along the way she has met many she would call friend, but her search continues endlessly, and so each new acquaintance, like many before, will fade into the past.

It's a Chinese(Qilin) mythological creature that's sort of part deer part dragon and part lion. Like an East Asian unicorn =)
